In this podcast, we will explore the identity of God and what He does.

These questions have fascinated humanity for centuries.

I will offer a biblical perspective and reflect on the divine nature of God.

I invite you to join me in searching for answers to these profound topics, knowing that our exploration can expand our comprehension of God’s identity and work.

We will focus on a verse from the book of the prophet Isaiah 48:17, which describes God’s nature and actions. Isaiah provides three identifiers that touch on some qualities of God’s nature.

In this verse, God presents Himself as the supreme Lord, personal Redeemer, and Holy One of Israel.

Isaiah writes that God is the one who teaches us for our benefit and guides us in the way we should go. God presents Himself as a teacher and guide. God’s teachings are oriented towards the benefit of the human person.

Following God’s instructions leads to spiritual wellbeing and practical aspects of life. God also presents Himself as a guide who can lead people on the right path.

Following God’s teachings involves making ethical decisions and seeking and following a purpose congruent with divine will. Therefore, God teaches us to profit and guide us in the way we should go.

The concept of profit in this verse is not limited to material wealth but also provides for the prosperity of the soul and the community. Isaiah’s notion of profit is prospering in peace, living correctly, and cultivating a closer and more intimate relationship with God.

In summary, Isaiah 48:17 speaks of God’s love, His role as a teacher and guide, and the promise of complete and correct living under His direction.
